Combine 433 MHz with Zigbee/Matter

Let older 433 MHz devices work together with modern systems.

Use Home Assistant as the central layer. 433 MHz sensors can start automations that control Zigbee, Matter or WiFi devices.

Step-by-step plan

  1. Check on the compatibility page which protocol belongs to your device.
  2. Enable only the required receive protocol on the RFX web page or in RFXmngr.
  3. Temporarily enable Auto Discovery when using MQTT.
  4. Activate the remote control or sensor, or add the device manually with the correct MQTT topic.
  5. Test the controls in Home Assistant and then disable Auto Discovery again.

Tip

Use a fixed IP configuration, a unique Hostname/MQTT Client name and a good 5V/2A power supply for the most stable operation.
