Description of the RFXPulse module.

The RFXPulse module measures pulses from a Relay contact, Photo sensor or Reflective-Optical sensor.
The total measured pulses are transmitted at predefined intervals.
The RFXPulse module must be installed in the RFXMeter device. The RFXMeter device has 3 slots for RFXPwr and/or RFXPulse metering modules.

The RFXPulse module consists of:

Installation:
If there is no RFXPwr module installed in the 1st location of the RFXMeter then a 9V (if DC then center is -) power adaptor must be used to power the RFXMeter.
The pulse sensor is connected to the RFXPulse with a 3-pins Jack connector and 2 meter cable.
3 wires are use for the Reflective-Optical sensor. Ground, LED voltage and Photo sensor signal. For a relay or photo sensor only 2 wires (ground and sensor signal) are used.
The interval of the reporting can be changed by the user from 30 seconds, 1 minute, 6, 12, 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
The address of the RFXPulse can be set by the user so that theoretically up to 256 units can co-exist.
The counter value of the RFXPulse is saved in non-volatile memory of the RFXMeter device when a power loss occurs. The counters are restored when power returns.

The preferred receiver for the RFXPulse data is the RFXCOM X10 receiver. This receiver can receive the full 48 bits data packets. The maximum number of pulses that can be measured before the counter rolls over to zero is 16777215. The 48 bits data packet enables a parity check on the received data.
The Homeseer RFXCOM plug-in supports the RFXPulse.
The Homeseer ACRF plug-in version 1.2.0.3 and up supports the RFXMeter with the RFXCOM receiver only.
The W800 receiver can receive 32 bits and is therefore able to receive the first 32 bits of the data packet. These 32 bits contain the RFXPower unit address and the lower 2 bytes of the measured pulses.  The maximum number of pulses that can be measured before the counter rolls over to zero is then 65535. A parity check is not possible when the W800 is used and the configuration packets can not be received by the W800.
